Travel Recommendations

Air Travel:

The closest airport to the wedding is Easterwood Airport (CLL) in College Station. It’s a small regional airport, so most flights from out of state will connect through Dallas Fort Worth (DFW).

If you’d like more flight options, you can also fly into Houston (IAH or HOU), Austin (AUS), or Dallas (DFW). From there, it’s a scenic drive of about:

Houston: 2.5 hours

Austin: 3 hours

Dallas: 4 hours

We recommend renting a car for the trip—rideshares like Uber or Lyft are available, but they can be slow, expensive, or tricky late at night.

Things to Do While You’re Here:

If you’re visiting for the wedding and have some extra time, here are a few local spots to check out:

  • Downtown Bryan: Explore charming shops, local restaurants, and a few craft distilleries. The historic streets are perfect for a stroll and a bite to eat.

  • Northgate District: College Station’s lively downtown area is full of restaurants, bars, and shops—great for an evening out.

  • Century Square: Urban, mixed-use destination featuring retail stores, bars, eateries, entertainment venues & hotels, the latest hot spot in town.

  • Downtown Magnolia: Browse local boutiques, cafes, and artisan goods in this vibrant area, just a 45 minute drive from College Station.

  • Sam Houston State Park: Just a short drive away, this park offers hiking trails, wildlife viewing, and a peaceful outdoor escape.

  • Lake Bryan: Relax by the lake, rent a boat, or enjoy a meal at the lakeside restaurant with scenic views.

Local Eats:

  • BBQ & Smoked Meats

    • Big Dawg at The Station: Big Dawg at The Station is a chill, relaxed family and dog friendly restaurant and bar serving creative barbecue, craft burgers, and is a personal favorite of the Bride and Groom!

    • C&J Barbecue: Authentic Texas brisket and classic smoky sides.

    • Rudy's BBQ: Reliable, no-frills Texas barbecue at an affordable price.

  • Tex-Mex & Tacos

    • Chuy’s Tex-Mex: The best margaritas in town are at this kitschy, eclectic chain restaurant.

    • Fuego Tortilla Grill: Popular late-night Aggie spot for tacos. Try the Dr. Pepper Cowboy.

    • Centro American Restaurant & Pupuseria: Don’t let the exterior scare you. This is the most authentic and tasty central american food in town, serving pupusas, tamales, and aqua frescas that are to die for.

  • Burgers & American Classics

    • Koppe Bridge Bar & Grill: Long-standing local favorite for a great burger. Carve your initials into the wooden tables and join a local tradition.

    • The Dixie Chicken: A timeless Aggie staple that serves burgers and chicken strips surrounded by pool tables in a country-style setting.

  • Local Gems & More

    • The Owl Pub & Grill: Another favorite of the Bride and Groom, it has a limited Americana menu and a great selection of cocktails. Check out Sunbeam Bagels next door for New York Bagels and other breakfast staples.

    • Layne’s or Cane’s: Which is better? Forge your own opinion about if the locally owned Layne’s chicken tender box is better than Raising Cane’s and join a decades old local argument.

    • Kolaches: Before leaving Texas, be sure to try our favorite Czech-inspired breakfast item: the kolache. While there are many amazing kolache places around town, our favorites are Shipley’s Do-Nuts, Kolache Rolf’s, and Karma Kolache. Groom’s favorite: Sausage and Cheese. Bride’s favorite: Jalapeno Cheese. What’s yours?

    • Yesterday’s Bar and Grill: Want to see where the magic happened? This dive bar with pool tables and dart boards is the spot where Jack and Kelsey fell in love. The bar selection is slim, the food questionable, but it has a local charm all its own.

Whether you’re looking to explore, shop, enjoy nature, or eat your way through Texas, there’s plenty to do in College Station and Bryan!
